He will be joined on the executive by Quenton Lehmann, Vice Chair Facilities; Julie Skinner, Vice Chair Hosting; Randy Decksheimer, Vice Chair Business and Marketing; Bill Chester, Vice Chair Heart Stop Lounge; and Cheryl Noble, Vice Chair Special Events and Volunteers.

It will have been nine years since the Scotties Tournament of Hearts was hosted in BC. Other cities to host the event include Prince George in 1983 and 2000, Kelowna in 1989 and Vancouver in 1997.

The theme for the 2009 Scotties Tournament of Hearts builds on Victoria's heritage as Western Canada's oldest city – beginning as a Hudson Bay Company Trading Post in 1842. Victoria has been anointed as one of the world's best cities and a top destination for tourists from across Canada and around the world.

The 2009 Scotties will mark the 28th year of sponsorship of the event by Kruger Products Limited – the corporate sponsor of amateur sport in Canada.
