CALGARY, December 5, 2008... This years Tim Hortons Brier winner qualifies automatically for the final round of the Canadian Curling Trials.

Additional Curling Teams Ranking System points are available to all teams competing at the Brier and will help the quest of their dreams. To achieve this dream, curlers today must concentrate on all aspects of developing their ability to perform at high levels. "During the off season we are in the gym three hours a day building up specifically leg and core strength as well as improving our cardio. In preparation for a big event our team will practice approximately three hours a day with our coach, working on technical aspects of our delivery and one hour a day in the gym" said John Morris – Third of the Kevin Martin team, the 2008 Brier Champions, and one of the two teams who have already qualified for the Canadian Curling Trials.

The Canadian Team Ranking System points adds another attraction in what could be a record-setting Brier, so beat the ticket rush and put some Rocks In Your Socks this Christmas. Weekend Rocks and Daytime Rocks are ideal stocking stuffers and on sale until December 24, 2008.

The Tim Hortons Brier will be held at the Pengrowth Saddledome March 7-15, 2009, with the theme, Rockies II...The Reunion. The Big Four building at Stampede Park will host the Purple Heart Lounge and the Labatt Brier Patch.
